Have you ever entered in a big tournament?

I just did, and it was a wonderful 4 days of pool for me. Watching and playing pool with pros.

I felt like I was in pool heaven, all day and all night of pool. I only eat when I do remember and sleep so that I wont be sleepy come pool time.

My only wish was there was a motel on top of the pool hall.

BTW, its was also great, weight wise - I lost 3 pounds.

It was a pleasure seeing you sweat all the matches. See ya Sunday.

karombalista,

perhaps for the next big tourney you can rent a motor home. TomCincy will let you park it in the PH lot if you give him a cheeseburger and a smoke :D

We had a local tourney here for the APA regional championships. We played most of the day Saturday and Sunday and every night the next week. Nothing to match Hard Times events but mucho fun nonetheless.

Wally~~needs a motor home.

There were 3 motor homes in the parking lot this last week. Lot's of cheeseburgers for me..

Tom,

Remember at snookers when Kid Delicious backed out of his final match against Putnam because he said he had eaten too many cheeseburgers? :D

Perhaps if he had had a motor home to lie down for a while he could have played :)

Oh Yeah, I remember... too stuffed to even chop... easy win for Putnam..

Hey Karambolista. 3 cheers to you! The Hard Times tournament is one of my favorites. I remember my first time. I drew Rodney Morris and got to play him. I mean where else can you play a top pro for a small entrance fee. Imagine playing one on one with Kobe or Michael. Or throwing footballs to Jerry Rice. Or hitting balls off of Randy Johnson. Man what a choice experience that was. And Rodney was a perfect gentleman too!

It was wonderful, I was 16 and she was too. I had my dad's old Nash Rambler and the seats would fold down. We parked down by the bay and.......................... ;)

Oh, y'all are talking about pool. Never mind. :p

Here's the breakdown of my $100 entry fee:

Played and practiced on super nice tables for more than 8 hours.

Did'nt have to pay for admission fees

Watched a trick shot show by Mike Massey

Watched an entertaining ring game

Watched a lot of good matches

BTW, all the matches have their own schedules, so you get to watch a particular matched on the exact time on its designated table.

So, would you think it was worth it paying $100 to enter this tournament?

No?

How bout this:

Learned a lot about pool.

Chat and practiced with Santos Sambajon and Jose Parica.

And played this big guy (in the tournament) from tennessee, if I remember it right his name is mike massey (he's got a nice stroke).

my first...

I played my first pro tour in january 2003 in Chesapeake,VA - $350 entry for 2003 Mid Atlantic 9 ball championships.
Tournament held 91 players, most of them champions + several like me. I felt, like I had entered
a new world. I was so confused, that I could berly practice.
In first round I draw Charlie Williams, and he run over me 11-1, running 3 times several racks. I had only 4 innings in whole match. Second round I draw Mike Davis, and he kick my ass too.
Besides, like "karambolista" said it was good experience, I meet a lots of peole and I had fun.
By the way, "karamblista", how did you came up with this nickname? It is a polish world, but you are not polish, so whats up? :-D
