How well do you inspect your tip ?

I made what I would call a major discovery. I check my tip out before a tournament or match. But do I really inspected it. And most of it has to do with my eye sight. See my eyes are good from far ..but far from good. I need readers. So looking at the tip up close I saw well enough that it had good shape and if it needed chalk.. last night I played and determined my tip needed something my eyes couldn't confirm. . and under closer inspection I was right.
Now I will put on the readers to " inspect my tip" even during play. Losing a match for mis-cues is a mistake I won't make any time soon.

What did you discover?

KK9 <-- gonna pull out his shaft and a proton microscope

either your shaft is too small or you got the worst eyes in the feline family.

Speaking of tips

Funny story:

My pal was at a big tourney in the 80's and needed a tip replaced on one of his cues, I wont name names but a TOP cue maker was there and he got him to do the work.

My friend goes to the pool hall when he gets back home and pulls out the repaired cue....he hit ONE ball and the TIP FLIES OFF!

He finds the tip on the floor and picks it up and it had written in sharpie have a nice day underneath it.

Its terrible and hilarious at the same time....I'd want to kill someone, but couldn't help but laugh at a joke like that.

That is funny..it was the 80's name that huckster..

My discovery was it takes more than shape and chalk to make a tip right. It take the eyes to "really " see it.
