How well do you really play pool?

I have noticed we have several members on this discussion board who from how well they play pool are almost at professional level.

I am curios how many pro players there are on the forum like Grady, (who make a living of of pool) and at what level most of the other members play?

Are you capable of running a Rack of 14/1, can you break & run 8 in one pocket, or at what level do you play? Do you Hustle pool as you means of income ?

Though playing pool for a living is my dream, I am merely an amateur. I hope, through practice and perseverance, to up my game but currently I could run a couple racks if I'm feeling good. I'm not overwhelming or anything, but if you slack on me I'll be forced to make you regret it :D

I can B&R in 9-ball if I'm feeling good, but I'm pretty creative with my safety play these days. I can typically run out on the 4 or 5 if I have a good rack and I rarely choke out of the blue. I DO fear grade-school kids however.

In the area I live in, I'd say I'm a little better than average.

At a major tournament, like the DCC, I'd say I'm in the bottom 2%.

I'm a threat to break and run one in a race to five. I would say that's about the average...sometimes I run many racks in a night, and sometimes I don't run any...

I do alright locally, but regional events destroy me...at least so far. I've tried two of them...the last one was the Viking Amateur Tour last weekend. I drew Mark Vidal first round and got crushed...I got to the table about 4 times in a race to 6. I've been a wreck ever since...thanks Mark. lol

In my area I am so low on the pool totem pole that I am responsible for running the weedeater around the base of it once per week.

I have my moments of brilliance. I had a high run in Jan of 65 in 14.1. And recently won the most money in my life in a tourny $685.00. I took some of the money and bought some dvd's. I'm trying to do whats on the dvd's, and now I suck.

I think alot of us downplay our game. I can play great or not so good at any givin moment. I do play much better when the chips are down such as in a tourny or league play. I am a threat to run out at most moments but have been trying out some new custom cues lately and the learning curves of these various cues levels the playing feild significantly. Heck there are a ton of great players out there who given the chaance to play alot (like I did early in life) could have been a somebody on the pool scene. It is better to thik of where you want to be than where you are now. ( unless you are at the top of course.)

I have 24 ero's out of 100 games played in our VNEA bar box 8ball league. Broke 50 games and racked 50 games.Been playing for 15 years. Ranked as a master player
