Im currently in the market for a higher quality case and was looking at this line. Are they made in the USA or overseas? Also how would you rate the overall duribility? Thanks.

I have the 3x5 brown with the stamped tooling just as go as a instroke. i was told they are made in the same over sea factory right or wrong. You can not tell the diff. instroke or winn.

I am a new owner of a Talisman original black/green case.

Tony Jones has a company in Thailand that makes these cases and the quality is as good or better than instroke or even a custom Justis and I
have seen all of them up close.

My case was shipped from Thailand to my door here in small town Northern Ontario in less than a week at 370 US shipping and taxes included. Incredible price!!! The price also included 9 Talisman WB medium tips along with a Talisman golf shirt and hand towel.

IMHO you can not beat that price when taking in the solid construction and super looks of Tony's great cases.

I would at least check out there site at www.talismanbilliards.com and take a peek at these cases.

Hope this helps.

From the leg work I have done, the Win is made in the same plant as Instroke but still not an Instroke. I too was looking at a Talisman, until I came across this post. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=113556

Do you feel this issue still remains, or has it been fixed?

Mantool.

Thanks for the link. This does not seem to be an issue anymore. I have inspected all of the straps, swivel clips and I am not sure that they can be any more solid!

As well, the original case I have does not seem that heavy so there is no way the weight would pop the swivel out like the picture shows.

That link also has only the one member that I can see that had that problem. All the feed back I have seen on Talisman cases have been positive.

Note: I also love the dual shoulder strap with swivels. Very comftorable to carry.

Thanks again.

Mantool.

After inspecting my swivels and looking at the photo in your link it looks like the swivels are made more heavy duty with the bottom end being to wide(big) to even pop through the hole as in the photo.

Sorry for hijacking this thread. My sincere apologies.

The protection of the Instroke is much better then of the Talisman.
I have both so I guess I'm not biased by any of them...

I would go with Instroke or with JB (who invented Instroke)... Protection first!!!

BTW, my Talisman that had the strap broken is 3x5 so it might be heavier then yours

The concensus that im getting is that a Instroke is the better case? I can get the Instroke for around the same price that i can get the Win for. Would you go with the Win or the Instroke?

For the money you are going to spend on a Winn or Instroke Tooled case, you are better off buying a Dennis Swift. Here is his website: http://www.casesbyswift.com/home . 2x4 Tooled Case is $300, 3x6 Tooled case is $325 and 4x8 Tooled Case is $350. You also have the option for custom features at very little or no cost. The swift case is built like very well and IMHO built better and protects your cues better then the Instroke and Winn cases.

The Swift case is indeed built well. But it doesn't protect better than Instroke or the WIN cases built by Instroke (some Win cases are "probably" not built by Instroke).

I was told by a case dealer of win, instroke, dc, etc, that WIN is produced in the same factory as Instroke in Taiwan. I've seen a Win case & they almost have the same features as Instroke (moisture resistant fabric, pvc tubes, etc) except for the Diamond latch & other aesthetic features.

I believe Win is the affordable tooled version of Instroke. However, the what you get with Instroke is the product WARRANTY that comes along with it

I see people saying this, and I have to ask: what does having them produced in the same factory mean to people? To me, it means relatively nothing. As a contract manufacturer, I'm bound by my customer's specifications. So, some things have such and such design and quality considerations. They have absolutely no bearing on some other similar product's design and specifications. In other words, I could be producing two similar products with one having far superior quality than the other just because of its design and specifications.

I assume that it's the same in this case (har har). Just because the WIN case and the Instroke case are made in the same factory, that doesn't necessarily mean anything about their relative quality, construction, or design.

Taiwan's economy was built on the back of reverse engineering Western technology. I'm sure there is some John Barton in the WIN cases.

Your statments are correct!
However as someone who inspected a WIN case I can honestly say that the interior (protection) is just the same as the current Instroke.
So in this specific case (har har... :grin-square: ) saying made by the ame company, means getting the same protection quality for less $$$
Of course, if protection is the only concern then the Instroke Premier (vinyl cases with the same interior) is the best deal on the market these days.
