How would you play this? 9 Ball

Lock it up!

CueTable Help

This is what i would do...

Remember you're opponent is already on one foul.

Play the one to get shape on the 5 ball.
Lag the 5 ball up on the other side of the 2 ball.

You're opponent can't see the 2 ball and he is already on 1 foul.
Make him break out the cluster rather than try a risky shot!

??????!!!!!!!!!

And hit at lag speed (assuming you hit it PERFECTLY, which is not so easy to do) , the 5 ball hits a small piece of chalk, and instead of getting the exact hit you want, it hits the side of the 2 off the rail, instead of freezing up to it.

Then, your opponent takes ball-in-hand, places the CB right next to the 2, feathers it, and puts you up table, most likely behind the 3. And since the 2 is now behind the 5 AND 2, you have no rails to make a good kick. You will most likely lose the game if you execute this lag shot badly.

Never mind the fact that the angle (and speed) you are playing on the 5 greatly increases your chances of a skid. If you get a skid, you might go straight into the face of the 9, and you'll be done for in this game.

Your shot would be the best if you had another ball anywhere close to the 2/9 cluster. As it, is, if you pocket the 1, I think you become an automatic underdog in this game. Look for a safe that does not pocket the 1. :D

another option if the table has deep pockets is to play for a corner hook. even if you miss the hook or scratch your opponent is in a bad spot.
