how would you play this for the the cash. the 1 is frozen and the 8 is 1/2 inch off the rail. i didn't play safe this time.

if someone can explain to me how to use the table thing then i will show you guys a shot that you probably dont know... it comes in handy on shots just like this... but i cant figure out how to show the "path" of the cueball...
If it were me, I'd be pissed off and would probably jack up and "pile drive it" as hard as I could with extreme right english and try to cut it in the corner and come around the table 3 rails for the 9ball.
Then I'd rack.
Or you could just cut it in and take your chances with the long shot on the 9ball. At least this way you're still at the table.

I also would cinch the 8 and bank the 9. Playing position on the 9 just isn't something I could make work in this situation.

if someone will explain to me how to "show the path of the cueball" then i will show you a shot... you can try it when you go and play again... it works... and not alot of poeple know about it... i had a well known pro (2006 U.S. open champion... hint hint) show me this shot and it comes in handy in cases like this...
3 rail bank the 8 in the side.

not that im saying you guys arent capable of understanding it... but you have to "see it to believe it"... if i were to just explain it to you then you would think i was full off crap... but if someone can explain to me how to show the dang path of the cueball then i will show you and you can go and try it for yourself... this little tip comes with a money back guaruntee... lol... and if your like me then it will open a whole new aspect of your game...
besides... some of you may know the shot already... but im sure there are several of you that dont... i am always happy when someone can "teach me a new trick" and i am just trying to re-pay the favor to other poeple that might not have someone that can show you things like this.

Actionhound- What you need to do is edit the above wei table with the arrows on the bottom. You can drag each end of the arrow. Once you have it looking how you want it hit the copy button. Then in your reply hit the wei link in the top right. Put your cursor in between the Wei tags and press control-v. It should paste something like this- start(ajfdhkjfah) and then when you hit preview it should show up.

here is what i did. i learned this position shot from a bank player in chicago about 20 years ago. it is risky but i was on the hill with a seven game lead so i thought i would dust the cob webs off this shot and give it go. i got lucky i guess.

ok... let me try this
you jack up and "spin the 8 in" using inside english... because you are jacked up (drawing the ball basically) the cue ball comes off the rail "flat" and when it hits the other side rail it will spin down table towards the 9... this shot comes in handy alot more than you think... you have to stroke it pretty well but once you get confident with the shot you can use it in different situations... try this shot out the next time you hit balls... it will amaze you when you hit it good a few times in a row... this ONE shot right here opened my eyes to a whole new aspect of what i can do with the cueball

you have to stroke the ball well... try it a couple times... you will be amazed at what you can do... i find it to actually be easier to do jacked up than shooting it from the headspot...

i'm with hall. with the speed you'd have to hit this shot it's totally uncontrollable as well as for the cue to carom with english of the opposite rail that distance is just not in the cards. not to mention the fact that most of the time you'd scratch.

the only chance would be rail first and even then i think the stars would have to be perfectly aligned with a full moon present and your luck streak to be at it's highest. the worst part would be if those were the cases you would have wasted that opportunity on a pool shot.

well... you go ahead and try your little two rail in the side shot and ill take the shot that A WORLD CHAMPION showed me... and i have spent hours practicing and have become very comfortable with the shot... im sorry that i tried to share some knowledge that i have been taught with you and i promise i will never try to teach anyone anything that someone has taught me... you can go back to your barbox eightball league team and beat the rails off... and i will continue to listen to the advice of champions and continue to improve my game...
