How Would You Run Out?

The game is 9 ball and you are shooting the 3 ball. How would you get out?

If its the ball just off the long rail...make 3 in corner come 2 rails ,side to side and back to middle of table for 5 in side.
I wont try to get straight in down the rail on 5....

From there i have options on position on the 6 to 7 depending on where i wind up. Percentages are good.

If it's the 3 I'm looking at... You Can just play the 3 and try to lay the CB close to rail to play the 5 straight in the corner. It's over from there

1 tip follow, 2 speed on the three in the corner -> cue ball 1* short rail 2* long rail location, 4 in the side 2 tips draw, 4 speed try to get the cue ball to come off the end rail and past the 8 on the 5 ball side to get to middle of the table above the 5. 5 in lower left hand corner, 3 tips of draw 2 speed to pull back to middle of the table giving a good angle on the 6 ball to hit 3 tips follow 1 tip left, off the end rail back to play position on the 8 in the corner. either come off the end rail if above the 8, or slight draw if below the 8 to get back on the 9. Or if I am feeling frisky, carom off the 4 into the 9 after the 3 ball, hoping to make the 9 or at least get position on the 5 somehow if I miss the carom. lol How does that sound?

If the 3 is above the 6 and the the 4 hanging in the side (aramith TV balls), I'd pop the 3 into the top left pocket with slight draw to line up the 4. I'd hit the 4 either soft to get shape on the 5 into bottom left pocket or depending on my shape on the 4, I'd play the cue off the bottom rail. On the 6 I'd take the natural corner and so on keeping my speed and English in check.

You were doing great before this thought interferred:D. You've got an easy out, don't let the cueball hit any other balls and you'll be OK.

HAHA, just saying there is an option there, not a good one but an option. I should get creativity points for not opting for the combo. lmao

Stop shot on the 3 leaving a slight angle on the 4.

Shoot the 4 and draw underneath the 6 to get a slight angle on the 5.

Depending on how severe of an angle you get on the 5, you can either kill the CB off the rail, or go across the table. Either way you end up with a relatively easy shot on the 6.

The rest of the out can be made by staying in the middle of the table.

In fact, the entire out can be done easily by staying in the center, and never hitting more than one rail.

I was tempted to shoot the 3 and stop, then take a little poke at the 9 (off the 4) too. As long as you get to the side rail before the 9 and hit with med/ hard speed and spin, you are getting on the 5.

Works every time for funnies, but for tHe money, at best, the 9 blocks the 8 from that pocket. I am passing on touching the striped nugget.

I would snap that 3 in with draw and R) spinglish. Gotta get below the 4&6, then 1 or 2 rails to the 5.

Is it not just all effectively stop shots?

3 corner, stop (some drift)
4 side, stop or slow roll.
5 corner stop or bounce out slightly or one rail and back I guess depending on how much angle.
6 corner, stop
8 corner, 2 rail position on the nine, same corner.

i would run out in succession, its an open table, where's the problem???

Two people before you didn't even know which balls were which but I guess you do. Too bad you didn't mention how you'd run out before I posted the ball #'s and the ball colors.

Nobody said there was a problem, I just thought it would be fun to see the differing responses.

Can you shoot/ stop off the 3? Angle looks too steep to leave proper angle to permit shoot/ stop from 4->5.

Who is playing the match? Got a link to share so we can see the solution?

Wow, this is really not going very well. The 7 ball is NOT on the table, the 4 ball IS on the table. Please read post #5.

I would play the 3 firmly with follow to get to center table, cut the 4 in the side and go around three rails for shape on the five leaving an angle for the six.

The 6 lays kind of big playing the 3 this way, but I'm confident I can get to center table and I don't like using the bottom end rail for shape on the 5 since the 8 is in the way.

Use some imagination!

Seems like it would be more of a challenge to try to run the last six in sequence for one-pocket into the corner closest to the 9... The crux would be the 5-rail bank on the 5 between the 8 and 9, and maintaining shape for a 3-rail of the 6...

2-rail the 3
3-rail the 4
5-rail the 5
3-rail the 6
no rails on the 8 and 9...

Yeah, that's the ticket!
