Hello all, I Have been lurking for some time now and wanted to introduce myself. I have been playing on and off for about 18 yrs. now and have been hooked every since I began. I was wondering if any of you AZ folks from Texas were in the Dallas area in the early 90's. I ran the pro shop at Champs on Gaston back in as I like to call them the Good old days. I was there when it made its segway to Cj's and left shortly there after to return to central Texas. I just wanted to say hello, and What a great place this is to share our passion.

Thanks

Greetings and salutations....

I played at both Hawley's and CJ's back in the early 90's...
I'm sure you are using that term very loosely . . . . :p :D

I was there at Champs when their was multiple partners. Dianne, Manny Cj, McChesney, and so on. There was some great players, tons of Action, and some great tournaments I had the privlage to be a part of. Definatley some great memories.

Stopped in there once when I was on the road...you wouldn't remember me. I played one guy and lost and left. It was a tall, thin black guy with a hat that said "slim" on it. Don't remember his name, but he was wearing a red T shirt and blue jeans. I think he was originally from Omaha. He was with an old cowboy-looking guy.

Welcome to the board.

I always wondered where you went. Welcome....randyg

Two of the better black players that I can remember from this time were an older gentelman named Sam, and another youger man named Nate. Sam had an old cue, looked like a Tad or Gina, that was the best hitting cue I have ever touched. Sam was more of the 1hole sort, and Nate loved 9ball.

I banged some balls around at CJ's when I visited my friend in Trophy Club. Wasn't it White Rock billiards before CJ's?

White Rock was across the center if I remember correctly. Champs was it's second title as it moved directly across from where White Rock was, and now CJ's.

Howdy Doody Hanky!

Nice to meet you and welcome to the family!

I have a condo in South Padre Island. I try and get there as much as possible. I love Texas!

Howdy Butterfly,
For the record I use A Pat Diveney custom cue. Thank you Pat for all of your efforts. Both my wife and I love your cues. I am still in the market for a steel jointed cue, and waiting to hear from you on one of your J/B's. I am certain you will be hearing from me very soon. ATTENTION: If you havent tried one of Mr. Diveney's cues you don't know what you are missing. Thanks for the addiction Pat.
