Just wanted to let everyone know that was one hell of a storm!!! I went to Tampa (Dunedin) and as it blew through out there it dumped around 10 inches of rain. The family is fine other than getting over the effects of cabin fever. When we got home (Rockledge) we drove through some pretty ripped up areas. The hardest hit were billboards, signs and trees. BTW don't get those vinyl fences I found them all over our neighborhood from the housing development north of me. It literally bent them in half and blew out the panels. I personally only ended up losing some screens on the pool enclosure, a few shingles and a section of fence. It could have been a lot worse. I am leaving the plywood on the windows until Ivan goes through. In case you were wondering the mahogany beast is doing just fine!!!!

I hope you all are safe and sound.

It's good to hear everyone is ok. My brother in law and his family live in Rockledge. They haven't made it back there yet from evacuating, but from your report, hopefully they won't have too much to clean up when they do get there.

Good Luck with Ivan and stay safe.

I'm OK in Tampa. Jack Justis is OK, but someone stole his last two beers. Arnot (Arnot Q) weathered the storm with seven women and no electricity for three days. A large tree came down through part of his home. Glad to see that you are well... Doug

That's terrible, to steal a mans last two beer, some people ! It's good however to hear that folks are well after everything. It amazes me how big those storms are when they show satelite shots ...

The Biggest problem with this one was it kept stalling. It was driving us nuts. We seriously thought that we were going to be home on Sunday. But because it couldn't keep movin' we had to 'hunker down' (SLUG A BEER!!! sorry a twisted drinking game we started playing. Everytime we heard 'hunker down' we chugged our beer. We finished a 12 pack in no time... :p ). The rain is what had us worried everything was saturated!

Still a problem

I am in Parkland, just S of Boca Raton and just N. of Jack Justis. We still have a problem with electricity and traffic lights out.Water in some towns need to be boiled.Ivan does not look like it is going to get here.Thats a relief. We have another place in Lorida Fl. which has been hit twice now in 2 weeks. Its going to take a month to get rid of all the downed trees. We also now have to replace everything in the fridge because of no power.

The wife, daughter and I made it ok. I have some pretty bad shingle damage to my house and it ended up dumping most of the water on my table (1919 BB&C). I quickly pulled the rails off the table and striped the wet cloth off the bed. The ceiling in that room is probably toast but I think I saved the table. The rest of the water ended up in the ceiling in my garage. The sheetrock was bowing just above my wifes car and when it fell it swung over her car and landed on my Corvette  . Looks like I get to buy a new roof, ceilings in the pool room and garage and some new cloth for my table. Sounds bad but it cold have been a lot worse.

What the hell did you do to Mother Nature?!?!? I thought it was only disgruntled girlfriends and ex-wives that targeted mens toys!

If I were you I would attach those rails to the slate. That way they won't warp when drying. (Just a suggestion)

I am glad to hear so far that most of us are ok. I am still waiting to hear from BVinco, Hustlefinger and some others.

Murray,
Glad you and yours made it through ok. I think I would have been more upset about the table than the Corvette. I've a friend selling a black 'Vette. No sense your wasting time fixing that one up and the black would be a good change of pace. :D
Steve.
