I just wanted to take the time to sincerely wish anyone in this storm's potentially devastating path all of my thoughts, and prayers. The nation is watching, and hoping for the best. For me, it is things like this that often help me keep perspective, on the truly important things in life. I wish all of you the best!

I live in San Antonio which is about 200 miles west of Houston. Got lucky and it looks like it's going to miss us.

I have some friends in the Houston area. I called them and opened my house to them but they've decided to sit it out with the storm.

I'm thinking of them and wish them luck.

I have recently met a couple new friends from the Houston area. They are now on the move as of yesterday afternoon. I wish them and everyone else that is in the path the ABSOLUTE BEST!
 
Hey guys I am living in St. pete Fl. now and I am thinking about those that are going to ride it out and wish them some serious luck, cause that storm is no joke!
 
Sounds like a lot of people in Houston are sticking around. I remember riding out Andrew and it definitely wasn't fun. Hope they all stay safe.

I agree %120 with j2pac's comments....I have family in Beaumont and I hope they made it out.....All of the Houston/Galveston area is in my thoughts and prayers this evening.

I am in Houston as we speak riding out the storm. Power is out in most places as I have heard from friends that live here as well. All is well here though - I have a generator and plenty of fuel for the long haul.

As for damage, all of the fences surrounding my house have blown over and a tree fell from a neighboring yard into my yard.

The conditions are rough outside. Winds are sporadic with extreme gusts every few seconds. Rain comes in sheets, but my street is not flooded...yet.

The news is saying that the eye is moving over now and the back half of the storm will last from 4-6 hours. I sure hope it moves right on out quickly.

Let's all take a moment and try and lift these people up in a prayer !!!

My family and I lost everything in Floyd so I know what they are experiencing.

Best of luck, I am watching it on the weather channel and CNN. I'm not sure why folks stay when a Hurricane comes, I really don't need any excuse to go to a hotel and room service.

Anyway rock on, the storm will give you tons of memories for the future.

I just got word that the Owners/Manager of Legends Billiards Craig & Mindy are high & dry!! Will post report on Legends as it becomes available.

Also my good friends Tim & Kimberly Byrum, whom many of you players know, in North Houston are also fine.

That's good news, Ray. Tell them we're praying for them.

I just talked to my friends in Houston and other than a small pine tree laying on the roof of their garage and losing a few roof shingles, they're fine.

Sometimes evacuating is worse than staying. there where more deaths on the roads during the evacuation from Rita 3 years ago then their where from the actual storm. And sometimes theres no point in leaving. Youll spend 8hours in traffic jams as everyone in the city tries to leave at once, and by the time you get anywhere its already safe to come back.


Glad to hear legends is ok. that would suck if something happend to them theyre a great pool hall.

Actually no word on Legends yet! The Owners/Managers Craig & Mindy are ok, but have not been able to go check on the pool hall yet!

I will report as soon as I hear anything.

My good friend who is an Attorney in Houston, lives just outside the loop and is without power. He said the heat is getting to them already!

There will be much assistance needed for ALL of the Houston area!!

3,000,000 without power in Texas. Being without electricity is no picnic even if only for a short period of time.

league city got some of the worst of the storm as it hit dead on galveston and went up I-45 into houston....i could only imagine what this storm has done to the city...ray there was talk on another thread about setting up a fund for the anyone who has been affected by the storm...i think that is a stellar idea....maybe at the fast eddies in sa we can talk about setting something up?
