Dude is down 5-3 in a race to 9 so 5-4 is a whole lot better deal than 6-3 and sure enough as happens a LOT in a critical rack, the opponent gets a plugged rack but made a ball.
All others before it were tight enough.
Opponent walks back to get his playing cue with a grimace on his face because in spite of making a ball, the balls were all culstered up.
Dude jumps up takes a quick look at the table and says "Hey man, I'm sorry. I'll let ya have the break over."
Without looking at the table, Opponent agrees, says thanks and screws his break cue back together.
OK, you're all way ahead of me. Opponent would have had a PERFECT lock up safety and probalby a 3 foul win the way the balls were clustered!!
It just never occurred to Opponent to check to see why Dude was being so nice!
I've never seen that before but it was a cool move.
BTW, that critical rack plug has happened to me so often I would almost bet on it so now I check every rack, every time, friend or not just as I always should have done but was too lazy or too "nice guy" to do....mostly lazy. (-:
