Because of my interest in Kielwood shafts, I’ve spoken with a lot of cue makers since March. What I learned is there isn’t any standard approach or method for building a Kielwood shaft, cored or uncored. One cue maker I spoke with
was thinking about using a Juma insert that can get tapped for whatever thread is needed. Another known cue maker preferred to embed carbon inserts within the collar whereas others differed in the length of coring and sans any insert.
