It's madness, I know, but stay with me here.

Lets say you get a 10 ft table with some damn tight pockets and stick it right into a corner at your new place! Is there any shot you can't practice on it? Yea you can't play a regular game, but that's not why you got it in the first place, right? You got it to shoot the same shot a couple hundred thousand times until you don't miss it with your opposite hand and a blindfold on.

So 10ft table right in a corner of your place. Genius or what?
-You can practice on it. (enough said)
-But it also takes up less space
-It will confuse your friends
-When you get back to a proper table after practicing on that beast you keep in your corner... (enough said)

Just having some fun and throwing out an idea I've had banking around the back of my head.

Thoughts?

You'd be better off with a 7 foot so you can practice at all angles/rails and actually play the Ghost properly, or a game.

Sounds like a lot of hassle for a couple of rewards that you may think that you see coming out of it. Much less stress to go to the hall and rent a table, than to dick with a 10 footer that you don't have proper room for.

OR!!!!! He could put in each corner of the room for say a month at a time and get all of his practice in. One corner you could master using inside and in another corner you could matter outside.

It sounds like it's gonna happen anyway no matter what gets said here.

lol, it's not gonna happen no matter what gets said here... probably.

But do you mean to say you can't practice both inside and outside shooting into the same corner? I disagree.

I can play a game or that Ghost at any local pool hall, what I can't do is practice on a 10ft table every day.

Practicing any hard long shot on it would be rewarding to say the least.

And I know I don't have the room for it.... that's why it's going into the corner!

No. You get to shoot from both sides of the table when it's in two different corners of the room. You get to shoot mirror shots using left and right when you move it. I thought you have been thinking about this in your mind for a while?

Forget the 10 footer then.......go for a 6x12 snooker table.

Spanglish. Ok let me explain. You shoot from the top left corner of the table and use inside English to pocket a ball in the bottom right........it's left English.

You shoot from the top right corner of the table and use inside English to pocket a ball in the bottom left ......it's right English.

If you put the table in a corner you can only get to one corner at a time. If you move it you get to use inside or outside in each bottom corner.

Did this for a while with my old table, it is great practice, I could use one long side and one short side. Makes for great practice. You also got a hustling skill most would not have by practicing only two sides of the table (short and long). My old coach used to play me nine ball that way..and smoke me 90% of the time. You can also mount mirrors right on the walls to get used to the mirror system. Kicks banks and such.

If I was a pool coach, I would definitely have one table set up this way to teach fundamentals.

I should point out that assembling said table and moving it in the corner is a real pain to do. But not impossible.

I think one corner enough... you can shoot into that corner with inside or outside and practice both.

Exactly! I thought about the mirror thing too, how sweet that would be. Practicing the fundamentals on a big big table is what this idea is all about.
