I am wondering if there are any pool movies that I have not seen before.

I am wondering if there are any pool movies that I have not seen before.

Here is a very short list of the pool related movies that I have seen in the past (in order of the ones that I like most).

The Hustler (1961)

The Color of Money (1986)

The Baltimore Bullet (1980) James Coburn

Poolhall Junkies (2002)

Kiss Shot (TV 1989) Whoopi Goldberg

If any of you movie buffs know of any other good pool movies, than I would really like to know of the ones that I have not seen. I have not seen The Baltimore Bullet since I was a young kid, and I remember that it was really good (it was about poker, and straight pool). James Coburn is really great in that movie. Kiss Shot was not a good pool movie (and would be very silly to any decent player), but I still love anything with Whoopi Goldberg in it (she is great). I hope that some of you can add some other pool movies that I do not know about. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for listing those titles. I remember seeing "The Baron and the Kid" (after I looked it up on imdb), but I have not seen the other 2. I am going to check them out. Thank you very much.

Thanks for that link. Many of the films look very interesting. I imagine that some of them are very hard to find, but I am going to try to find them. Thanks again.

Your welcome and "very hard to find" might be an understatement.
Some on this list may have only been a concept.
The Player might be one of them.

My fav is the episode on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when Will gets hustled at a poolroom and Uncle Phil and the butler go back and take the whole joint off.

Here is another one (Behind the Nine) that I found online, but it was so boring (and stupid) that I had to stop watching it after about 20 minutes.

I really wish that some of the big time film makers were really into the game of pool, so that maybe a really great movie like "The Hustler" might be made again someday. Does anyone think that a movie as great as The Hustler will ever be made again, or have the opinion on any movies that are up to the standards of The Hustler? I always really loved The Color of Money, but the pool playing in it is just very silly (like the position play by Tom Cruise at the end of the movie, for example). The pool playing in Poolhall Junkies was also pretty silly. I wish they would come out with a really good movie (with good production values) that has some decent pool playing in it (but I guess that is a silly thought, since there are not many great actors out there that are also good pool players). The guy that made (and stared in) Poolhall Junkies did seem to be a decent player though (but none of the other actors).
