Here is a cue you do not see everyday... or EVER.

Looks like a cue I saw a LONG time ago, in my "previous" life. That one was made by Ed Silva, local cue maker in NJ.

It is indeed Mr Silva's personal playing cue. I believe this cue to he his first cue. I also believe it to be his only gambler style cue. If he made 70 cues I would be surprised. You can see gus's influence on the cue including the dice inlays and their configuration. The points are a little rough and the cue in the from sale section had much nicer points. So I think he did get better as he got along.

Oh Wow!
It has been so long since I saw Eddy. Nice fellow, very old school. I used to go to his house to have my tips or ferrules done. He did great work and charged reasonably for it.
Eddy was also a good pool player. Always tried to get me for $5-10 while we waited for the glue to dry. And I tell you, the $5-10 races to 5 9 ball we had, was such a big deal to him. When I won few times, his face would turn "dark" :grin-square:
He'd be all over me trying to play another set. And I would tease him saying that I have no time and must run. But then, I always gave him his money back as a tip. But to keep the record true, overall he has about $50-60 of my money
Do you know if he is still alive or did he pass?
Great guy, great pool player and great cue maker.

Joe,
Excuse the ignorance. Who was Mr Silva?
