Pagulayan Earns His IPT Card

“It’s not only the IPT,” Pagulayan admitted afterward. “I’ve been here all week. I was doing good in the banks, and for some reason, they played like God on me. I was doing good in one-pocket, and for some reason Efren—he didn’t play like Efren. He played better than Efren. And then in nine-ball, Luat beat me, played his best against me. In the straight pool, no one more than a hundred all week. Finally I did it, ran one hundred and thirty—somebody twenty minutes later runs one hundred and thirty-nine. Great! At least I got this. I think I got the most important thing, I think. That might make me a millionaire, I think.”

For those of us who went to the Derby....we all know how true all this is....Pagulayan really deserves his spot for sure. And then there was that nail biting 10-9 win over rock-solid Breedlove!

Plus I think Jason Miller is the fella to watch for the next decade.

I would have loved to have seen this:

"Always performing for the crowd, after he pocketed the last 8 ball, Pagulayan danced around the table with his cue, crying, “I made it! I’m in the IPT now!” An audience member called out good-naturedly, “The IPT will never be the same!”"

I can imagine that will look fantastic in the promos.
They had a camera on the match right?

very funny, reminds me of Karen winning all six classic tour stops and taking off her shoes and dancing on top of the table.

A blessing for pool

I was walking down the hall at DCC with Alex and another player and Alex was talking about emotions and pool. He was smiling and telling the other player basically to just smile and play his matches. The guy is always smiling and so much fun to watch. Even when things are going in the wrong direction for him, he still doesn't get seem to lose his sense of humor. He's especially entertaining late at night trying to stir something up. Sam

Alex is easily the funniest guy in pool and probably the best guy to get people interested in the game.

Doesn't he do some kind of bruce lee gag where he kicks the balls out of the table pockets?

Hmmm...i don't think it was a bruce lee thing, but a jet li thing. :)

But I agree, if the IPT gives him adequate exposure to let his personality shine on screen, he will definitely attract a lot of youths to the game.

I have never had so much fun losing!

When I played Alex on the TV table, he had me laughing the entire time. It wasn't sharking, just a lot of humor. He is one of those guys that just make you laugh even when he isn't trying.
I HATE TO LOSE - But as bad as he beat me - I still enjoyed myself.
