I f****ng loved Bonus Ball

Very good observation, but I think part of the problem is that the breaker is required to get a minimum number of balls (two, I think) to the head end of the table. That makes a soft break, as in one-pocket, impossible. And breaking too hard makes it very difficult to get a shot on the first purple ball.

I think the pros are very cognizant of the importance of the break in Bonus Ball, but I don't think very many of them have figured out the ideal break, yet.

Thorsten Hohmann's break would be the one to watch today.

Johnny Archer recently said that Bonus Ball was going to move to 10 foot tables next season. I hope this makes for some positive changes in the break area. I wouldn't mind seeing an opening break similar to what snooker has, maybe even adding an extra orange & purple object ball?

I really enjoy watching Bonus Ball & hope it can get some legs (just like the Bonus Ball girls).

theres an ESPN 3 ?????????? what kind of tv you got??

Yes there is an ESPN 3. It's an online channel only but with my Roku-3 box I can watch it on my TV. They have an app that allows it to be watched on other devices as well so long as you have a cable/SAT TV subscription.

My two cents on Bonus Ball

Greetings to all. New to AZB and a newbie to pool (two years). I took a break from league play here in New Orleans just to read up on the history of the game, improve my own game through study and practice and to watch as many matches, amateur and professional, as possible online.
I did not know that Bonus Ball existed until it's playoffs started. I really like the game and watched all of the playoff matches once they were offered for free on the WBPLTV website. Given the turmoil that the game of pool has suffered in recent years, I am happy to see what appears to be an A to Z effort towards getting the sport back into the mainstream. Although the Bonus Ball effort is self-contained to a large extent with the creation of something other than traditional pool, it does have the most promising potential of solving an industry problem of exposure. This “product” resembles a game show or sitcom and simply screams TV with its bright studio flash, its clean lines and glowing lights, wall to wall carpet and flashy out of the norm pool tables, goofy colored balls and cartoon jerseys. It also does not hurt one bit that many of the top players on the planet have signed up for this gig.
Having said that, I really like pound for pound what I see coming out of CueSportsInternational. Somewhere between the two of these organizations lies at least one potential answer to what ails the industry and I am once again looking forward to CSI's podcast
Worst case scenario, Bonus Ball can only make one a better player. The rules are no more challenging than Mr. Tucker's American Rotation which also rocks. After all, anything that can teach us how to play as a team and not completely suck on the big stage (Mosconi Cup) can't be a bad thing.

Finally, if you have not read Roger Long's opinion on the issue of Bonus Ball, its worth a read:
