I know its not that much of an accomplishment to some, but to me it felt great. I play in San Ramon, CA at a room called Crown Billiards. I first met him there about 2 years ago. He always does his occasional barking and whoofing, and thats how I met him. He actually gave me my nickname, fearless phill, and everyone knows be by that now. Anyhow, I've been playing for almost 4 years(literally did not pick up a cue until about 4 years ago) and started playing one pocket about a year and a half ago. After learning the game, I absolutely loved it and would play with anyone that would play regardless of their speed and how much they wanted to play for so I could get better. Finally Bucktooth offered to play me cheap, $10 a game even up, about 3-4 months ago. Let me say, for his age, he still knows his moves. But the first time we played he beat me 20 in a row, yeah, I know, I suck. The second time we played which was on monday, he still beat me 6 in a row, but this time I was hanging with him, but not just quite enough to beat him. Than finally tonight, something just kicked in. He got up 4 games on me, than I finally beat him on the 5th by making to difficult banks. The next game I went 8 and out and he just started going nuts. We played about 10 games total and I won 5 of them. Like I said, to some this may not be anything, but to a 60 speed in USPPA I felt great. Anyhow, I just wanted to share one of my new found memories of the love for this game and bucktooth. Some may dislike him, but to me he's a nice guy.Thanks.

Don't be surprised if he wants to up the ante.

Nah, not worried about that. He sees it as giving me cheap lessons. Otherwise he wouldn't have played at all. He wouldn't offer to play that cheap unless he likes you. He's always whoofing at the ones he wants to take money from.

Phil,

Great going. Your game is only going to go up.. You sound a lot like myself, you gotta learn how to lose before you can really win. I love to play stronger players than myself, even if I have to pay for "cheap lessons".
Well worth the cost of education.
Keep the drive, you are sure continue improving.

Peace, Joe

Congratulations!
This is the first time I heard bucktooth playing 10 $ a game.I am surprised.Even 500$ sets, he calls them ``breakfast money``.
For a pro level player Bucktooth may not look like a good player.In fact he was a very good player.How old is he now?:cool:

wheres my hachiroku?

Quit messing around at Crown and go get my car done. Then we can start talkin about you buying my Mottey. Oh and guess who was being a dirrty MF at the bar last night. Yep das right. Holla back!

Man, I have been waiting for a guy to be done with my car for almost 2 years. It sucks. Do you really have a GT-S?

Hi Fearless;

The first Saturday of each month Hardtimes in Sacramento has a one pocket tournament. Sunday its 9 ball. Best players in Nor Cal ususally show up. Good to learn by watching and they are usually lots of cheap games if wanted. I'll be happy to show you around if you let me know you are coming. Its a nice place in a good part of town. Good shooting.

Mike
