Not many cues worth buying are that cheap, in my opinion. You're right though, in that many people buying a complete predator cue are paying considerably more than the bare minimum it takes to get a good solid cue. I've played with a $100 cue for a few years (brunswick), and it came apart at the joints. Played with a $300 Joss, and it never had a problem in 8 years of heavy use. Loved it. Now I play with a custom cue, and love it too...but it didn't make me a better player. Just happier. Ha ha ha.
My opinion: If you want a predator cue, go buy a falcon 'cause it is cheaper and then add on a predator shaft. Falcon makes most of the predator cues anyway.
Oh i have shot with a predator more then once. I share a locker with a friend who has a preadtor shaft on his schon and i use it alot when i dont want to use my cue. But my dominiak has a dominator shaft which is an 8 piece shaft. so its not much different.
