I found a new glue for tips - any one tried this ?

The point with this thread was that I had been using Locktite
but due to the local supply was so far away I had to drive quite some time to get it.
This made me use some "wall mart" type of glue from a local "all-in-one" shop
which sells any thing from spare parts to cars, boats, bicycles, tools you name it.
All they have is branded with their name.
This glue is simply speaking shit. Shit shit shit. There IS FOR SURE differences
between glue - I have experienced it - and it has costed me A LOT in lost tips.
Now since I have other locktite version closer to me (then the EDIT 454) I started this
thread to give some info on these versions.
Using the rubber reinforced is for sure working perfect and using my routine mentioned
above I have not lost one single tip...At the moment I'm using Tigers CA and that
has been working fine for me - with the mentioned procedure.
If you have a different setup or procedure which works - stick with it and use
what works for you wrt glue and procedure.
I have found my way of doing tips and I'm getting jobs which a fellow repair man
fails to glue up due to tips falling off
Anyway, happy cue making.

I think I read somewhere where ca is just ca regardless who makes it. Don't know for sure though..:D

This is not correct. Not all Ca is equal.
There are high temp ca, etc
Then there is the blending etc
when you find one that you are happy with ,and it works, stay with it.
The rubber toughened are less brittle than the non rubberised.
The good glues have specs that you can use to see how well they bond
to different materials etc
When testing the glues,it takes time for the assesment and after 3 or 4 years, the tip should still be well bonded.

ultra gel

I switched to the ultra gel and have had no problems. I buy in small quantities and discard unused portions after 2 months.
