Some test pieces on a laser machine.
Can't use it for inlays or points as it burns wood.
But, can be used to etch/engrave.
I am told it can etch on anodized aluminums or brass plates.
I will have to make a simple jig to get to try to engrave brass or ss pins.

I'm gonna have my rubber bumpers and joint protectors laser etched.

What are they wacking you per peice? Last time I checked it was a 500$ set up and min of 500 pieces. Per pin or part change. It was almost cheaper to buy the laser.

I got free training yesterday at one of the labs ( I work for local high schools ) I maintain. See the redwood slab? I used that to hold the rubber.
I was shown how to set the Z, then whale away. It took less than two minutes for each bumper.
To do pins, anodized aluminums might be easier than brass and ss.
I was told you coat the pins with dike-em and shoot em. The dike-em will get burned onto the pin.

Yes, because you will have to change the text on Corel. That takes a few strokes and clicks.
