I bought a sweet southwest a while back from overseas az'er, Grantstew, a really great guy, btw. The cue is light by sw, standards, around 18.9 oz. It has a pau ferro nose and butt sleeve with purpleheart points and purple and white veneers. This cue looks sweet and plays even sweeter.
And yes, it has that sw glassy ping I really love. Stiff perfect feedback.
While in Europe the cue had a wrap done by one of Germany's top shops, CEM. This wrap is not real lizard, it may be embossed leather though it actually feels like rubber but I mean in an absolutely brilliant way. This may be the best wrap I have ever felt. Seriosly. And I think it compliments the cue beautifully. CEM also made the pau & Purpleheart matching jp's.
I don't think I had it 6 months when I took it with me to SBE this March to use as my alternate player with my olney being my primary.
A couple of guys from my neck of the woods were chatting with me when one of them asked what I had in my case and I proudly pulled out the sw. One of the guys, James, said he had to have it that he was looking for a dark nosed sw for a while and this one was exactly what he had in mind. I said it wasn't for sale but he persisted and well, he made me that offer I couldn't refuse.
Ever since I have been regretting selling it since it looked and played so fantastic now fast forward to a couple of days ago, while scanning wanted/for sale, lo and behold, my pal Nick Serdula is selling my old sw that came from Joe Salazar in Vegas.
Whoohoo, it's back in my rec room this afternoon.
I don't think I'll be selling it but you never know.
