LOL - Nick, you are killing me.

I will mention this post to Jerry so he can get a good laugh as well.
You were definately and are definately one of Jerry's favorites, Jerry mentions you alot! I don't think Jerry will see any humor here. But coming from you maybe at least he might not grind his teeth.
I will call him when my latest cue arrives!
Could be very soon.
Nick :)

And if you want to buy one I have one for ya! Are you serious, seriously.
Here is a man saying how can Jerry get off making copys of cues that frankly he has been making since the 70's and I mean early 70's.
Longer than the poster has been alive. And you yak at me. If you call and ask Jerry for a price and asked him the same thing a year ago you would know I am not joking one bit.
Chris told me about this post and he was about as happy as I am about it. I met Jery through Chris. Even GAVE Cheese one of Jerry's six pointers a while back! And since then have bought many his cues especially the half joint cues!
Jerry is definately a friend and when he is down here in a couple weeks I will enjoy meeting him! For sure!!!!
Nick :)

Nick - you made it about you, which is what we found so funny. Several of us have been buying Jerry's cues and posting about them for the last two years. No, Jerry wasn't all of a sudden 'discovered' because you came along. It's just funny, that's all - if you don't want to give people a good chuckle, then calm down about how amazing you are. Seriously.

And the two of us who got the biggest laugh out of this are also friends of Chris', so give that bs a rest as well.

:( My post sounded kind of mean - sorry guys. Nick always takes things in the best possible way.

I don't want to sound like one of those V-lovers, which is why I razz Nick about this stuff, but as Nick pointed out, Jerry has been around for a LONG, long time. Nick and others are simply pointing out quality work that has long been available, but under the radar. I think part of it is because Jerry did not get in the earlier Blue Books, and that was where a lot of potential customers went to get prices and info when they saw cues available.

This is kind of a dorky thread, so I'll sign off for good now.

(PS - I think Ken has become addicted)

I have issues of national billiards news for the early to late 80's and Jerry is advertising on the back facing page--so he has been around a long time

Must have spent too much time in the sun yesterday!

Cooked my brains! By the way a price increase is coming!
Thanks Scott!
Nick :)

I won't comment on the "cue copying" issue (have no opinion)....and I can't comment on Mr. R's cue pricing (since I don't know, firsthand)....and I don't know a whole lot about Jerry's playing or cuemaking history (again, I don't have the slightest idea on either).....

...but what I CAN say is that I just recently bought a Rauenzahn cue from lenoxmjs (at Valley Forge)...and the cue is a phenomenal player. I was/am incredibly impressed at how solid the fit, finish, hit and feel is on this cue.

From what I've heard, the folks that own one of Mr. R's cues are all of the same opinion....that he makes an excellent cue, could very easily command more money for them, and is a wonderful guy to do business with. I'm going to ask him to make another shaft for mine, and I have faith that it'll be a pleasant and easy transaction with a very nice guy who loves what he does. Who can ask for anything more than that??

jerry has a following because.......

1) he is a super nice guy who is easy to get a hold of.
2) he gets cues done fast and when he says he's gonna have them done.
3) they look great.
4) they play great.
5) he's been making cues for years, and knows ALL the tricks of the trade.
6) he was a monster road player, and knows how a cue is supposed to hit.
7) oh, and his prices are way lower than they should be for his caliber of maker.

how many cuemakers can you say all those things about???

I can name one right off the top of my head. ME. (except I don't do 1 through 7 and also, the only wood I have any experience with shows up around the same time every morning! :D )

Brian <--------- sick of it all!!!!
