Beating a young guy always makes me happy

Tonight was APA 9 ball night. That is all I get to play nowadays since the boss only gives me about 3 hours of unsupervised fun a week. But the captain decided he didn't need me tonight. That's ok. I play at a private club so it meant cigars and beer. But the other team had a young guy that wanted to play. And because I was out, he was out. So after watching him pout for a little while, I said "I'll play you some sets." Not a big deal for all you guys. But I haven't gambled one on one with someone for maybe five years. 90% of you guys on this site could kick my arse, but at my club, I am considered 'the best" and no one will play for money. I can't even get a ring game started anymore. It has been probably five years since I played sets with someone.

So the young guy played. And honest to God I played 50% better than I ever did on my APA matches. I won 4 out of five sets. I am thrilled at how well I played. And as Fast Eddie said..."Money won is twice as sweet as money earned."

This old guy will sleep well tonight knowing there is a young guy that is very disappointed in himself. Heh-heh.....

Lol I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. I players few cheap sets with someone who is better than me. Even tho I lost, we played even and could have won both sets, and also played better than I have in league also. It's funny how that works isn't it?

And I thought you 'did it for the game', not the satisfaction of beating a young kid's brains out.

...or maybe that is 'the game'.

Ha-ha! The character in the book would Do It For The Game. I, Do It For The Money! Which is the title of my next book I hope to have out in the spring.

And really, really, really I like to beat those cocky young guys.
