I had my heart ripped out in league last night...

nah, it actually wasn't that bad. I went 0-4 against the #1 team....all of these guys were in there late 40's-50's, have been playing for years & years. The rest of my team struggled mightily as well.

I actually shot relaxed & focused....was making good shots, but killed myself with poor position play. I'm going to try to learn from it & move on....I'm upset to some degree, & at one point last night I had thoughts of quitting pool.

One guy, who is a pool shop owner (& someone I took some lessons from when I 1st got into pool) wouldn't even shake my hand after he beat me his 1st game. Just turned around and walked away! (I've heard from others he can be an arrogant jerk). That has me pissed off, but I think that is just a reflection of his character. He is a good local player, but rubs people wrong with his arrogant character.

I can sort of relate to the rough league last night. Our team was up one round going into last nights match and lost to be put in second place.

In 5 games, I only missed one ball but lost 3 games. 2 runouts against me, the other game I lost I made a ball on the break, ran four and left myself really tough cut which I hung in the jaws of a 7' Diamond table with Pro cut pockets. He ran a very difficult rack too. Just not my night.

I did get one Break and run though and a safety, then run out won me the other. Gotta give the other team props, they played very well and we missed too many opportunities. It's a good thing I don't have to play the game for a living. Although it may be a blast to try!!

What goes around, usually comes back around.

Peace, JBK

Maybe that wasn't cool of me to throw that guys name out like that.

Then again, Billings, MT is nowhere USA. Doubt anyone knows the guy.

(since then have removed the idiots name)

Saturday I played in a local handicapped tournament... 1st match went alright, I won 7-4 playing a 6. 2nd match, I caught a stroke. I played what I would like to call my strongest tournament match ever--I gave away the first rack like an idiot, and then ran out from the one all over the place. I won 7-1 playing a 4. And then 3rd match, I handed them away one after another to loose 0-5.

I started to think too much, and lost my stroke as fast as I had found it. No worries; I'll be back for more... ;)

If you have any doubts as to whether you should have dropped his name, you're probably right. It might show a little class on your part to go back and edit the post before it grows.

Then again, maybe he desreves it.
