I have a APA by Meucci Cue . Need info !

My first nice cue was an oldie-1. I remember talking to a Meucci rep at the first SBE in Secaucus about how little I paid for it

Clearly not a lot of love here for meucci cues and I understand that. The predot shafts era cues played well. Most of you are aware that nearly every top player and world champions played with them in the late seventies and eighties. I get it though. Most, not all, but most posters here think it has to be a custom with a big name or it’s trash.

How much players like the cues does not matter much to the value. The quality over time, and the fact that there are so many other as good, or better, choices now make Meucci cues desirability mostly nostalgic, not due to how great they are. They sell well on eBay due to brand recognition and random dudes in their 50s and 60s remembering how much they wanted one when they were 20.

They played completely different than they do today

That’s true. I have zero interest in any meucci cue made after 1990ish. Yet, I absolutely love the playability of the cues prior to then. They were just fun to play with.

The majority of today’s “top” players use whatever brand they get the best deal from sponsorship wise.
And many hobby players and random guys in their 50’s and 60’s buy the custom hottest named maker at the time because they finally have the money to buy them.

Mooch's made up til about the time they changed the logo were well made, good playing cues. Then the co. went thru a 20+yr long period of making cues that ranged from pretty good to absolute shit. Unless you REALLY know your Meucci's and can see it hands-on you are gambling with your cash buying them.
