I have a dream...

That we have a National Association that houses the rules and promotes the sport and at that place there is an event center. This event center is setup just for the playing of pool. This would be a place that you would go for highest tournament in the land.

Each state would have an Office and Place this was set up as well. This would be a place where you could go and watch professional play as well as State Level Tournaments.

Pool Rooms would be where people would go to play local and Regional events.

The associations National and State would work with merchandisers in developing the pool markets within their states. This would bring in new players through advertising and teaching seminars, working with room owners on outreach and scholastic programs for billiards.

Its a dream.....is it possible?

as long as the ABP exists and the players insist on acting like entitled elitists, no. I will say, that is a wonderful dream.

I understand what youre saying, it does sound nice were it supported. I don't keep close tabs on ABP thing but I think that's more of an issue when a TD advertises a bunch of added money they don't have, that would be enough to tick anyone off.

yeah, I get the whole TD thing (looking at you, BB.). However, as players, you can't expect sponsors and tournaments to add a ton of money and you give nothing in return. It just gets frustrating when everyone has been pulling the same crap for 20-30 years and no one has learned a damn thing.

Ha, yeah I would say things are fairly screwed up now a days for sure. I think if there had been some move years ago that made league players want to be association players and the better they got, the better events they could qualify for....we probably wouldn't be wishing things were different now. Everyone is just on their own in everything.
