I have a question

Does anyone knows what would happened if I glue a hard thin cardboard between the ferrule and the tip? is it going to effect anything? I'm hoping to reduce the sound and make the tip even softer

Not really, might soften the hit a little.

If you are familiar with tip pads, they arent a whole lot different than what you ask.

Maybe try leaving a thin piece of the old tip instead of cardboard. So you’re not removing
the entire tip. I do that sometimes, more to protect the ferrule than anything else but it seems
to make for a nice hit and Idon’t notice any sound, well, other than a dull thud, and that’s only
if I’m trying to hear something

I'm using Kamui Soft with Carbon fiber shaft which makes the tip feel like a medium hard

Did you already experiment with other so many soft tips to find the one you like...and you have to look for other possibilities to soften the hit?

I would be concerned about the potential for tips to come loose during play. If you are looking for a softer hit, the material you choose could easily become the weakest link.

I've used roo glue, it's referred to as a vinyl glue, dries pliable and clear for the most
part. It isn't on my cue now because I needed it back up and available next day after a
nasty hard fall on a concrete floor, the acrylic ferrule exploded .
Roo Glue takes all of 24hrs @ 70 degrees with 55% relative humidity to totally cure
before machining. The next trick is the right amount of squeeze out during application on a straight flat clean surface.
Just simply have cue fixed upright, apply glue on both surfaces, lay prepared tip on
cue till you get a nice even bead around tip and walk away, do not fuss with it, no
clamping because you don't want to squeeze out the cushion you're looking for.
Come back to it in a couple of days to finish it up the way you like it.
