Earlier tonight I played snooker on a valley table. I'm sure I didn't play by the super official rules but I played by good enough rules. And it was good enough. It was a fun experiment. But I won't be doing it again until I can play on an official snooker table. Which at this rate will probably be never.

Well done. While these responses are quite funny, for those that love following the game but don’t have access to 12x6 table, it is quite fun. Until I joined a league team last summer, I only played 6-reds at home on a 7-foot table. I have a set of Aramith snooker balls, that are the size of standard pool balls, so they work really well. Prior to getting the snooker balls, I’d use the stripes as reds, and corresponding colors (swapping the pink for purple).

I played snooker on a 9' GCIII . Ran a century on the second game. It is ridiculously easy. Smaller balls, "tiny" table, relatively huge pockets compared to a snooker table.

How did you play on a GC with smaller balls? The cushions are too high to get any kind of reliable bounce with smaller balls.

I have a set of 2.25" snooker balls that I use on my 9' table. A friend suggested racking only 9 reds as 15 reds plus colors gets very congested. Using 2.07" snooker balls on a "pool" table is not my idea of fun for a variety of reasons.

Somebody mentioned that the pro balls are 2"; probably in connection with Trump's pool debut. There went the last of my interest in snooker hotties.

I believe they are 52.5 mm, which converts to about 2.07". Some are 2 1/16 ", or 2.0625", and there are snooker balls in the Americans measuring 2 1/8" (2.125"). Not sure there are any 2" snooker balls, but it's not a horrible approximation.

They sneaked in a ball size change on us....it was officially 2.1/16 “ for most of my life.
....now it’s 2.1/15 “....probably it jives with Aramith’s metric machining.

Yeah it's whatever size they use on tv. Makes the pockets look like buckets. Play like buckets too. lol
