A most excellent video intro to the game. The bald guy is Robby Foldvari, a former world champion. I had the pleasure of playing him a short game about 15 years ago. The purple-shirt guy is Steve Mifsud who has been on the pro snooker tour.
To me one of the most interesting aspects of English billiards is the in-off, or what we would call an intentional scratch. Some versions of Russian Billiards also have an in-off as a scoring shot. I fooled around with English billiards on a 10 ft. American snooker table, and found out how tricky those in-offs can be.
