What exacly are you looking for? I'm a comp geek and I can hook you up with a system or laptop.

when you say geek does that mean hardware or software. i was also looking for someone to talk to about software, files, but like really knowledgeable well above average or know someone who is :)

I know lots of people in the business. The really knowledgeable, well-above-average ones do not come cheap, especially the software types (hardware is pretty straightforward, unless you are running a Cray). What exactly are you looking for, to buy used computers (post #1) or someone to talk to about software and files (post #3) ? For used computers just go to the local liquidation auctioneers. Larger corporations replace older units on a regular basis, and they often go to auction. The used computer market is a tough one if you're thinking about reselling used computers. Your inventory drops in value too quickly and you need to maintain a high turns ratio from what I've seen.

Dave, who'll make a cynical guess that this is about online poker again, eh Mark ?

PS, hey Mr Moderator, isn't this an NPR type post ?

Dave ...... relax

Dave -

Relax a little. Sounds like you need an enema.

I crack me up.

Hardware is so cheap these days that you may be better off buying something new. Here is a link to some of Gateway's desktops. The cheapest one starts at $299! It will be comparable, if not better, than anything you can buy used in that price range.
