It would be nice to have a "search map area" botton. I'm used to that from Google Maps.
Agree with this. I expected to see lots of comments saying, great, thanks for all your effort- instead there is just criticism. Well done for doing this. I may still just use googleWhile the knockers abound, I appreciate your initiative and obviously hard work in trying to do something positive for our sport… or hobby.
Since the number one response I've gotten on AZ Billiards is how many I've missed, I need to move this existing menu item to a much more prominent place, instead of where it's at...........lolwish you best of luck on your tough endeavor.
as said tough to keep it current or get them all.
but how about on this site post a list of all the states and its pool rooms. and where they are. and allow us to add ones missed. this way it will be complete and when they are closed a note can be added.
you then can also incorporate that into your site with more things added if you choose.
so they can go to your site and find out if there is action, kinds of tables, food, booze , etc.
that could be a good symbiotic relationship with you.
What's the most interesting is that I posted it to the Billiards sub Reddit earlier and 90% of the comments were positive. When folks found their favorite pool missing, they informed me, and I promptly added it. Who knew that the folks on the AZ Billiards forum were tougher than critics on Reddit?Agree with this. I expected to see lots of comments saying, great, thanks for all your effort- instead there is just criticism. Well done for doing this. I may still just use googlebut well done anyway
You are very kind Mark, and a voice I needed to hear this afternoon after reading the comments on here.........lolWhile the knockers abound, I appreciate your initiative and obviously hard work in trying to do something positive for our sport… or hobby.
I'm retired and I created this because I saw a need. I'm in this for the long haul and will be updating it on an ongoing basis. Here is a previous thread about a list like this
Is There A Master List of all USA Pool Rooms?
Is there a master list of every pool room in the USA? When I use Google and ask for 'addresses of all pool rooms in America' I get a state, or city list but not the whole country. Can any one point me in the right direction if such a list exists? Thanks,forums.azbilliards.com
Thanks so much. I'll look them up and add them to the site. I appreciate this kind of feedback.Elite billiards. Rt 1 s Edison New Jersey.
Speakeasy pool hall is here in NC,in nort Sanford.I'm hoping that you folks will find my new site useful. Once you get to the home page, enter either a zip code or a city(and state), where you'd like to find pool halls.
What you'll see are the listings and map pins for all pool halls, in my system, within a 50-mile radius of the zip code entered.
All pool halls on this site have a minimum of 4 tables. There are over 1,000 listed, but I know there are still more out there, that just didn't come up in any of the searches I have done over the past several months.
If you notice a missing pool hall, that has at least 4 tables, there's a tab at the top to submit that, so I can check them out and get the listed on here.
I look forward to any feedback you care to provide, after you have checked it out. Thanks in advance.

How interesting. I use a venue's Facebook page as one way to tell if they are still in business. If they have current posts, then I can be certain they are still around Speakeazy, was posting regularly, then suddenly stopped in 2019. I'll get them added right away. Thanks for the head's up.Speakeasy pool hall is here in NC,in nort Sanford.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Right now, if you put in a zip code or city, it returns all pool halls within a 50-radius. I'm limiting it to that to protect the work I've done from folks that might want to abscond with all of the data.......lolIt would be nice to have a "search map area" botton. I think you have a really good idea and vision. Keep it going.I'm retired and I created this because I saw a need. I'm in this for the long haul and will be updating it on an ongoing basis.
I'm working with each individual pool hall to write a brief "About" section for the pop-up, when you click on their map pin. I've already done about 20 and I know it's going to take me a long time to get them from each pool hall, that would like one. See the attached screenshot of one of the pool halls that has worked with me.
Thanks Mark, I think you'll find it interesting the other ways I'm trying to help pool halls, which is broken out in the sub menu items under "Hey Pool Hall Owners". I'm doing those things as I saw a great need, while doing my research and looking at over 1,500 pool hall websites and their accompanying Facebook pages.I think you have a really good idea and vision. Keep it going.
