I was still using the old skin with the old software, hated the new skin although it offered a few large advantages like multi-quote.
I am used to dim light, former CAD operator. When we moved into a new building with a lot of other groups the drafting department was christened "The Lounge Area" for our low lighting and the plants my co-workers favored. The building superintendent was going crazy, the drafting department was the only place the lights didn't work! He would tighten bulbs, we would loosen them again.
Anyway, hated the new skin, too bright. Shades of Gray fixed me right up. Did notice the software was built by furriners, "grey"! Once I wasn't frying my eyes, I started noticing the good things. I hated the stickies at the top of every page with the old software. Got to the point that I had one more sticky on every page than new messages! That alone is enough to make me like the new software.
Still early in the learning curve but I think I favor the new software too. I also understand there are some very good technical reasons to go to it, including security. Glad to see Mike thinking about things like that.
I am going to miss a few things like sending little notes by hitting the rep button. Overall I am seeing the new software as an improvement though and will probably like it more and more as I get used to it. Might be able to tune it a bit too, I haven' done any mod's yet other than changing skins.
