I do like it and I remember what it was. Using a sponge applicator I applied a couple layers of polycrylic. The resulting feel is tacky, but not sticky.

I definitely have a strong preference for wrapless cues and have been giving my
old cues with wrap similar treatment only what I do is to get the best oil based clear
coat high gloss lacquer at the Home Depot.
After about 3 coats, light sanding in between, my linen wrap cues have some of the
sticky feel of the wrapless cues.
I tried the water based and it worked ok but was too soft. Went to oil based and it
worked much better. More smell, takes longer to dry but the final result is better......IN MY opinion.
What a mistake - FOR ME - to have bought all those wrapped cues throughout the years.
I tried to get the stickiest leather wrap available on one of the cues but never liked it.
Wrapless all the way for me from now on. Learn from your mistakes.

It's worth trying. As I've mention, the feel is tacky, but not sticky. It will not slip in your grip.

I also like that I've played for hours and it still looks the same.

Keep in mind, though, a little goes a long way. Apply it gingerly once, let it dry some and do it again. A steady hand and an even applicator should yield good results.

I get the same result from using a Shaft Sealer. But smooth and no tack.

For those that may like the look of a wrap, but the feel of a wrapless cue. Take care of it, wash your hands once in a blue moon and it can last for a very long time, like almost forever.

I discovered the tackiness does smooth out some with use which just makes it better. Also, it doesn't really feel wrapless...or maybe it's better to say it feels like wrapless with an Irish linen texture. This isn't like Meucci.

If it makes you happy - do it. When I worked in Corrections (prison), I used to shine the toes of my boots with Mop N Glow on inspection day. They were so bright that they would nearly blind you. ;)
