Let me explain.
Many moons ago my very first "player" was a cuetech bought out of one of the local hall. I played with for years but graduated through a few "better feel" cues and the old ct just sort of lost all purpose.
A few years ago I decided to have a one piece phenolic tip installed and made it my break cue. This turned out to work great...dam thing breaks a ton.
Probably got a thousand breaks out of it until the collar split last week. Well, I don't know if its technically a collar, more of a thin plastic ring that covers the wood at the joint. Maybe about an inch tall if stood on end.
Anyhow, it split down two sides and is not on the cue any more. Makes a not so pretty cue that much not prettier lol. It still breaks fine actually, but my break stroke goes well through the joint (apparently) and that's a not so pleasent feeling for the bridge hand.
So I either need to get it fixed (potential cost?) Or I need a cuetech butt. So I figured id ask if any one had one laying around the would part with on the cheap...maybe an old stick with a busted shaft ect.
I do know we have a wanted/sale section but the that page does not get a lot of cuetech butt only type action and has more bumps per hour then a wooden roller coaster.
Also wanted to feel out potential repair cost as it does have some personal value as my first cue.
Also, does what type of pin do they use? Is the thread unique to ct?
