So I have a Bear "Bustamonte" (not Marc Bear)cue.I'm thinking about selling it, but I need to know what its worth the previous owner said 1500 which is what it was worth new but I dont know when it was made. I do know there is only 25 made. It has 4 floating ivory points with abalone diamonds between them, birds maple forearm, stack leather wrap, ebony buttsleeve with ivory inlay windows and ivory butt cap ss joint, oh and Busty's real signature. There isnt much info on Bear cues in the US except that they are the same company as Falcon. So anyway I need to find some one who can appraise this sexy beast.

I can tell you that the cue markett is so badly beaten down right now that there will be almost no way of selling it unless you find the right person and almost give it away!

On almost anything production-made a good starting guide is 50% of the retail price. Under normal circumstances that's about what you can reasonably expect to get out in the open market for a production cue that's in excellent played condition.

Market is very bad right now though....nobody seems to be buying much....even at prices that are a steal. Way too much wood and dwindling interest in pool isn't helping.

Ya I'm not worried about the market guys but thanks. I've sold other cues for what they are worth with no problems. In this case however I dont know the current value so I need to find someone that can appraise it.

Maybe I interpreted your comment wrong but so you know it came off as fairly smug.....

But so you also know if you posted pics of your cue the folks here at AZ Billiards could give you a very good appraisal of your cue.

That should be your first step!! Post pics!!

That link takes you to a pretty large distributor. Aren't Bear cues made in Germany?

James

Ya bear cues are based out of Germany. I've seen that website before, but I have an earlier Bustamonte. I am just gonna post pics an see if anyone recognizes it. thanks.

If you want some help you might want try and come across a little nicer, when someone gives you advice on here. Post a freaking pic and I guarantee someone on here can tell you what it's worth.

I haven't given anyone any crap on here an if you read the posts I thank everyone for there advice. So again I thank you for your advice but your assumptions are incorrect. Oh and I am going to post freaking pics when I get the memory card back for my camera. Now here is some advice for you dont start problems on threads for no reason. My responses may be straight to the point but they are hardly malicious.

There is no fight here an no deep breath needed, someone misunderstood the posts I wrote an tried to call me out. I'm not sure about the Steve Mizerak joke though:sorry:confused: ? Is my cue the MIZ or...

This thread stuff is tricky I started it with a couple green squares and now I got a crap load of red ones. Look guys if I offended anyone besides Kentucky my apology's but I didn't write scarcasticly, I write what I mean nothing more. If I say thanks I mean thanks, I know English is a tricky language because tone is everything but with typing there is no tone unless someone reading it looks for it but I assure everyone I didn't write anything that way. I'm just looking for info on my cue which I should have pics of tomorrow if anybody is interested in seeing. Thanks.

cue market is soft, best of luck

Ya that is what I'm hearing about the market, so it sounds like its probably not a good time to sell this thing, which I'm gonna take as a sign not to sell it, since I didn't really want to anyway I love this cue. Shoots great looks great and its named after and signed by my favorite player the great "DJango". I'd never think about selling usually but I got a baby on the way, but since everyone on here is telling me the same about the market it's probably not gonna get me much anyway. So I think I'll try to use it to make me money instead of trying to turn it into money. It would be nice to know it's value though I wonder if German cues are in the blue book...
