So I was working on a cue and all of the sudden my motor starts acting up and just stops. The fuse did not pop and I was just drilling a regular 5/16 hole, nothing I have not done before. So I open the back of the motor and this is what I find. Do you guys know where I can find these.... I got this motor new about 10 months ago. The brushes cracked. I have not abused this motor and did not core with it.

Thanks anticipated.

warranty

Send it back where you got it. Seems like there should be a warranty on it. That is terrible. I'm sorry that happened to you.

If you run a carbon brush to where it wears down too small they can crack. A lot of brush motors estimate 200 hours on the brushes. So I would advise all DC motor users to check their brushes occasionally. It is usually one brush that wears faster than the other since we run the lathe in one direction most of the time.

I had a weekend emergency once and bought an adjustable spped grinder sharpener with a 1/2 inch arbor (?) coming off it. $67.00 at Home Depot. It got me out of the fix.

I went to Sears and I got the hook up. They had a huge variety. I had to file the sides a little but now it's good as new. Power is restored and good to go.
