I have a 57" house cue that is very old and straight, i would like to convert to a SP. I would like a Nice liiking Black Joint, with some Ring Work on the Joint & Shaft End, and also down by the New butt Cap. Hopefully after conversin the cue with be near 58.

What should I expect to pay for the conversion, and refinish?

Depends on the builder, and the complexity of the work. I see this work go for $200 & I see it go for several hundred dollars. I think there's a handful of newer builders on this site who'd do great work for around $200-$300. It will depend on the cue & how convertable it is.

You need to check the dimensions around where you plan to cut the cue and add the joint. It needs to be close to 0.840" so the joint will be around normal size. Then you should measure how long the original shaft is at that point. A builder can always add to the length in the butt sleeve, and most builders have a nice stock of wood to match the existing materials. As far as prices, it can vastly differ. Your top name builders start much higher than $200-$300. If you're on a budget, then pick a newer builder who's trying to make a name for themself. If you want another shaft, count on adding at least another $100 to the project.

Good luck!!
Show some before and after pics so we can see what you choose to do.
