Where are you playing for $4 an hour! Down here it is $8 - $12 an hour depending on where you are playing. And the $12 an hour is for a 9 foot table that is worth playing on!
 
Life is cheap in Youngstown, Ohio that is why I haven't left. They used to call Y Town "Little Chicago" and we try to keep up the image. That way all of us who live on the outskirts do not have all those high priced professional transients movng in. Oops - did I just spill the beans? :D

Now I don't want to offend anyone, but don't put the party room in the basement if you can help it. There are pictures of my room in the room photo section here on AZ. I enclosed two bays of a three bay garage. I placed a kind of pantry in the car bay. Kay (my wife) likes it real well.

I used three 2 X 12 by 24' pieces of pine to make a laminated beam for a clear span in the garage that has 3/4" plywood between the 2X12s. Don't glue, just nail in a one foot V pattern.

Thanks everyone for all the input. I called a contractor to come by and the most logical thing i think at this point is to extend the garage out another 5-6 feet. Thanks again all.
 
I think I misread that. I'm sure it says 15 or 16 ft.... right? :D

I was just thinkin that as long as you're gong to all the trouble to extend it you might as well make it big enough to hold two cars. Don't ya think? It probably wouldn't cost a lot more to go a few more feet... as long as you're already tearing walls down.

You really NEED a pool room AND a garage. Huh?

Hope you get the pool room. Mine is right inside the back door and I never thought I'd have a place like this. It's supposed to rain tomorrow.. the 4th, but I think I'll be able to somehow handle the disappointment. I'll just HAVE to practice/play pool tomorrow instead. Life is tough and then ya die. :D
 
jim i agree, one problem. property lines and zoning wouldn't allow more than 5 or 6 feet. I will go to the max though.
