I find most pool related shirts to be boring but today I had to ask about one I saw at a pool tournament.

The shirt says, "I keep all of my money in one pocket" and shows a corner pocket with money in it.

The guy purchased it from www.upandcomingbilliards.com

In reading the website they sound like nice people with worthy goals but the few designs they offer are really lame. The possibilities are limitless and I do think there is a market for pool ware just as in all other interests, from fishing to your favorite breed of cat. People love to show off their interests be it on a bumper sticker or a shirt. But you need a "wow factor". They need to see it and say, "I want one of those and where can I get one". I didn't see that at the website. One of the cleverest shirts around in a long time was the one from the one pocket tournament that said,

"One Pocket, it's an epidemic and there ain't no cure" and had a picture of a one pocket break.

Mine has long since worn out but it never failed when I wore it someone wanted one. I hope they can come up with some more really interesting designs that produce that reaction.

IMHO, the design is over-complicated, but I wish them luck!

With the one pocket shirt, except for the clue of a pool ball, I doubt 1 person in 20 could tell you what the pictures is. The point of my original criticism was, there is so much that can be done with the subject that would really get peoples attention. Shirts a girl friend or wife would order for the pool playing boyfriend. Heck, I wish I had cool shirt to shows off my interest in pool, most are just too lame.

I agree, one out of twenty pool players would know what that shirt is about because that is about the ratio of people that hang out in pool rooms that even know what one pocket is.

On the street, about one out of five hundred would know what that shirt means.

But at the tournament with a large group of gooooood players, the shirt was a total hit.

When I was sixteen, seventeen years old I was at a gun shooting competition and this older guy had on a shirt that said, "LOVE IS A TIGHT SPHINCTER". Most of the people there are wearing gun related shirts, etc. I asked him, hey, is that a brand of muzzle brake? Or a shotgun choke? Or some sort of Target? The guy told me it was a cross between a choke and a target.

I still had no clue so I asked my gun instructor what it was and he started laughing. I KEPT VERY FAR AWAY FROM THAT GUY WITH THE SHIRT ON FOR THE REST OF THAT DAY, HAHAHA

And I agree that most pool shirts are lame,

Hey, how about some ideas.

I was thinking about a shirt that says,

"HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GO HOME BUSTED IF WE DON'T PLAY SOME"

Come on, lets hear some ideas.

This is who you want to be but of the pool world. You want a line that the mainstream as well as the hardcore player will buy. I own Harley shirts and I haven't owned a bike in 40 years. I also ware his shirts and haven't fished in many years but they look great. You don't want to rehash a bunch of old stale wise a$$ dumb pool room stuff. They need to "Wow" people and do it right with a combination of clever and class, otherwise why bother.
Dumb is easy.

You have a really good point there but I have never heard of Guy Harvey which does not mean much, so I question how mainstream he is.

The only connection I see between pool players and fishermen is that they are known liars, hahaha.

AZ member Poolmind has some really great shirts, he was wearing a Led Zeppelin shirt at the tournament that was not your usual LZ t-shirt. It was a beautiful dress shirt that could be worn to a high class private golf club.

You have a good idea Mac but how do you implement it.

The one pocket shirt hit me as being unique, witty but yes, it is targeted to a very small audience.

These are the two that I have. I like them.

If you google his name you get 10's of thousands of results, his stuff is sold all over the world. I think original art works beyond just catchy sayings can give the shirts real appeal. Billiard abstracts as well as realism. A full scene from a 19 century pool room for instance. If you google "vintage billiard art" you see the seeds of many ideas that suggests what can be done. If you contact an art school students can produce original art works very reasonable. But in the final analysis your goal is something that would appeal to someone if they had never hit a ball but can appreciate.
