I got the oppertunity to play BJ Ussery in league play Sunday night. And being one of the better females around I was excited to see if I could win a game. We were playing masters 8&9 ball all in one match. Race to 7. I chose 8 ball first thinking I would have a better chance. BJ breaks and doesn't make anything. I'm saying to myself...here is my chance. I run down to the 14 and 8. I stick myself on the 14, But kick it in and have a good shot on the 8. Here is where I got to excited and make the 8...and scratch..how bad is that. It ends here...He beats me 7-0. Next time maybe I won't get excited.

No one can ever fault you for stepping up to the plate and trying. And you almost got there on one game, anyway. It's all about the journey, not always about the destination. You have the right to be excited, that's what keeps us all playing! You go girl!
 
Thanks for the boost. I never play scared...just excited. I step up and play the best players always trying for that win. That is what keeps me going. One day they will know my name!!!
 
im coming for the one in june mrsboss. A guy i shoot with alot said it was a great event....you probably know him, Mike. He said he beat ussery to put him in the losers bracket but finished 12th overall. Good action on the 9footer, cant wait to come check it out.
 
Mr. Mike Triplett I'm guessing. He played great and got alot of action. Probaly more than anyone else. Can't wait to meet you!

Next time you play him maybe it'll be 7-3 and 7-5 the time after that and maybe the time after that you'll whoop his ass. The point is is you played, and it sounded like you were playing some good pool till you got to the 8 anyways.

But at least YOU PLAYED!!!

You wouldn't believe how many Pro Players won't play in Regional or local events because they "may not win" or at least drop a few games to someone on a lesser level than them.

I have 3 State Championships that are open to WPBA Touring Pros. Some will come out to play but there are others I know that won't because they don't want their ability tested by semi-pro and amateur players. Heck, I knocked Dawn Hopkins out of the NJ State 9-ball Championships last year to finish 4th.:D Had to count the cutlery after we went out to dinner bcause we were sharing a room that night.:eek:

Thanks to you all! I feel about the same way. Even if I only improve 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, then I will at least be improving. It was hard for me to get up in front of all those great guys and take a butt whooping, but it will be harder for them to get up in front of all their friends and take one from me. If I keep playing them and I will ...it will happen. By the way, BJ showed me a lot of respect and really played me . I would have been upset if he had played around.
