I taught someone to draw the ball!
I read once some people will never experience the joy of the draw shot, and that is a shame.
At a get together yesterday, a "cannon party", my friends daughter and myself played pool on her parents 8 ft. pool table. We played once before, the last time they shot the thing off.
She might be 25 yrs old and is a 5 in the apa. She plays focused and determined and has been to Las Vegas...
We played a few 8 ball games. Then she missed a cut shot where the object ball is on the rail, Enter teaching mode.
I showed her the rail first shot with inside spin. Not sure she got that...
The conversation turned to the draw shot and after launching one into the cabinet on the other side of the table I was able to show her a couple... my draw shot isn't what it used to be. sadly.
Anyway she messes up a few shots and then she Gets It! I mean she really gets it.. The cue ball comes right back. The reaction was just priceless. sometimes it is hard to keep both feet on the ground I guess. and reminds me of why I play the game.
I am thinking the apa is getting a 6 pretty soon.
