I think Shane got cheated by the ref

I've made a couple of mistakes reffing, thats par for the course when you're a puppy. Never anything like this tho.

Why didn't Shane stop play and ask for the head ref?

I think they did but what could they do? Peach never made a foul shot, he did nothing wrong. Like I said in the OP there is nothing that can be done. I did hear that a game later the ref was replaced.

If the ref is allowed to notify players which ball to hit in rotation, it'd be similar to allow the ref to come onto the table and say, "you should hit high on this one and let the CB follow one cushion, easier to play position for the next shot".
