I have no idea why they chose to do that. I don't like it at all.Why Joss cues have such thin points a big space between them?
And McDermott is still building cues with an A joint while Joss uses a threaded full cure.Yeah, they have import lines, but I bet their US Made cues are still very high quality. And, I bet they still use very nice looking BEM in their cues. Joss does not seem to use any BEM in their cues anymore. They now use some sort of very generic looking low grade Curly Maple, that just makes me think of those $100 DP cues every time I see them.
Stilletto points look much sleeker (whatever that means) to me. Joss's look blunt spliced though like cheap sneakys.I have no idea why they chose to do that. I don't like it at all.
Interesting that I don't recall anybody saying they prefer the Joss point style.Stilletto points look much sleeker (whatever that means) to me. Joss's look blunt spliced though like cheap sneakys.

Somebody must. But I feel that to like one of the designs I need to see past that glaring "flaw". Yes, to me it fouls up the proportions and is a design flaw.
I love my old Joss. But I honestly have more McDermott cues than Joss. Why? It just ended up that way because I am a bargain hunter. Harder to find a bargain price on an old Joss.
That's what I call skinny points. Not original with me either.Sorry for the dumb question but what are “Stilletto points”?
I have a McDaniel cue with thin points but there are 8 of them so it looks nice.View attachment 827744
The gaps at the bottom lower the cool factor but 5 or 6 skinny points or lengthening the splice would solve that. I like this one DCP posted. IMO the chromatic balance is as good as a fancy design can get.

doesnt look appealing in any way to meThe N7 is certainly famous. Definitely a cool cue.
But why not something like this?

Cheapcues.com Mike Littman might have some unplayed pechuaers you might like in the safe. Can anybody help me find a new cue? Preferable mostly ebony with ivory or bone inlays. Nothing too elaborate. And no wood to wood joints. And no used ones. I am not interested in buying your cue no matter how little you played with it.
Can anybody point me in the right direction? Any cuemakers got some for sale? Or websites?
I haven't bought a new cue in 4-5 years now so I am way overdue. Also, one last thing - I prefer one that makes balls as compared to most of the ones I have now that seem to always miss balls.

I dont mind the threads... but everyone one of them has a theme... "I need some help, but I'm going to ignore it."enjoy your new cue

What shaft did you get?Well, after searching far and wide and not finding anything in Ebony/Bone exactly like I want I finally pulled the trigger on a new Joss Cue.
