I was just thinking of Alex at TAR

23-20 Alex
Alex is winning safety battles...but Shane runs a couple 2-packs to hang in

Shane gets out. Even watching the ball go in the pocket it's clear how tight these pockets are.

Shane 23 Alex 25 - Shane Breaking

I like this info, PT109.

Alex came to Canada when he was 15....he'd already been in more action
than some 30 year-olds.
He likes to tell the story of playing in the Philippines where half the table
was on the side walk....when you shot off the outside end rail you had
to get a friend to watch for cars coming.

So, no matter how tough this table plays, it'll be like playing in heaven
compared to some tables he's competed on.

He saw a lot of hard things growing up and still managed to retain a
naturally sunny disposition.

..gotta a feeling that no matter what the outcome, he'll probably have
more fun than anybody else there.

It shows a lot of heart on his part. He stuck with it until he got where he is now. Thanks, PT109.
Regards,
Lock N Load.

Shane 35 Alex 31 - Shane won 7 racks in a row - I think he ran a 7 pack but I caught only the tail end so I am not sure.

How about that for HEART??

Shane misses more balls looks like he is half dead but hangs with Alex the whole way and then at the end passes him up like Seabiscuit in the stretch.

This is super high level pool - everything promised and more!!!

Thanks TAR

He sure got going there! Someone said he won 7 in a row, but it was a 6-pack. At any rate, he kept Alex in his chair for a big turnaround  Alex even smiled there a lil toward the end. :p

How many times have you been to the Philippines? Manila only? or other places?

I've only been to the Philippines once and what I saw was pretty close to what Alex described. The tables I saw had a roof over them, but no walls surrounding them. If the rain gets big or the hurricane comes, the tables will get wet.

I remember being in Boracay and seeing guys shooting pool in a 3 table hut with clothes so dirty it was partially brown (from all the dust that get spilled onto the table because the hut was beside a busy road, without walls, door or windows to shield it from the exhaust and dust).

I thought the Philippines would've been full of quality rooms and tables. I was disappointed when I was there. This says a lot about the number of great players from PH.

Try that in Atlanta and you will see headlines of 5 drunk guys being raped and shot dead by ex-cons, a starving dog being fed to the lions at the zoo, a pool table soaked in gasoline and burned, (along with the entire building) and the "lock on the drawstring under the tarp" shoved where the sun don't shine on mister owner man after the gun battle.
It's a lie. It didn't happen. Nobody saw it. Alex made it all up. And you are a chump for believing it.
Next you will believe the written rantings of that goofy Minnesota Fats about "I never lost a game for money in my life".
As far as me being ignorant goes, I can always become enlightened through liberal education but you will still be gullible for the babblings of a pool hustler.:boring2:

Come to the Philippines and play on the street tables. Bring all the money you have and anyone you can. They will be played. Then you can tell us your story afterwards.

Wow...I went to bed and missed Shane running a pack.
35-31 Shane...Alex will win a lot of safety battles but Shane is my favorite
breaker....running packs is hard to beat

..going to sleep has SOME merits....I missed the theories of xdy77...
..stayed tuned for some more...like the phony moon landing..

It's a great stream. Well worth $35 for 20+ hours of two champions and fearless gamblers battling for the big cheese. I'm pissed I fell asleep 15 min before the start of Shane's 7 pack. Thanks for the great match TAR. Johnnyt

I'm no spring chicken myself, Johnny...but I got an excuse, I was up since
5 am....sleep in the afternoon and stay up a little longer.

that pack, actually a 6.5 pack has to be the equivalent of a 10 pack at
9-ball on bigger pockets.
I wonder what the record pack is at 10-ball

I was born and raised in Manila so you calling me gullible for believing that story? nah.. just another proof of your ignorance shining brighter.. started playing on those "outdoor" tables when I was 15 up until I was 25. First hand experience.

Different people say either a 6.5 or a 7.5 pack; either way it was a real impressive run with some steely nervy shots

You again?
PROVE IT....."thats all you gotta do and I am on my way back to Oakland"
PROVE IT.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....:D
(I was born and raised in Detroit, Ohio too...that doesn't mean I believe what some pool player has to say about building cars)

Typical railbird, about as smart as a bag of hammers.

The poster you're speaking of is 100% Filipino. You're 100% waste of time idiot.

Why havent yall mentioned the cheat break that Shane is using,,,just like Duel in early 2000. 6 ball side pocket and the rest is history...great shot making but not the worlds greatest feat...just sayin. Dippy could have rand 3-4 of those racks after the sham break

And you actually BELIEVE that bullshit story?
What happens when it rains? How does the place close up?? Whats to keep someone from stealing this "table"???
What a crock. Sounds like Alex was just drunk again and babbling.
I say PROVE IT!

Not particularly well traveled are we?

Well. Dippy is there and I am sure that he can get ACTION from everybody as to whether he will run the rack after Shane's break.

I play on tables with pockets this tight all the time and running ANY rack on them is a feat for an average player. Even a straight in 3ft shot looks intimidating. And that's with no pressure.

"cheat break" That's hilarious.
