The Sir Joseph ones aren't bad... I ordered a dozen from Meuller's at about $4.95 each. They aren't as fancy as yours though - it's a pity they stopped making them...
For this tournament, the tables were tight, so the safety game came up more. But, my opponent who I said wasn't matching my safety game turned to an all-offense strategy which helped him to win.
In the end, the two best runout players and the six best runouts players took the appropriate spots.
Nothing has changed. 8-ball is a run and gun game. The top players at the tournament will always be the ones who runout best.
I haven't been playing much for a couple of years, but if you here of any other tournaments, just let me know, and most likely i can make it.
The city tournament at St. Joe's in fitchburg is usually short a few people. If you're interested i can probably get you in, but it's only in april. It's a very well run tourny. Ref's, shot clock, scheduled matches, and limited to 32. I'll let you know when it comes up.
FA,
Well done!! Thanks for posting. Its always good to hear about competitions from the forum members. The question is: Which did you enjoy more, the trophy or the cash????
