At APA league this week the other team had a new player whom never played a single match in APA. I recognized him, and thankfully the league operators correctly set his skill levels to 7/9 as his Fargo is 700 range. I don't have a Fargo but know I'd be around 450-500. I knew all I could do is damage control, avoid the shutout, and take away a point.
I won the Lag, so he didn't get a Rackless, HAHAHA! From there he won all 5 games, only taking 4 innings. He got an 8 ball beak, break and run for the mini-slam. I did get on a run that was the closest I got to winning a rack. Missed my last object ball on a tough full table cut down the rail that frankly I was surprised I even got the leave on to attempt the long shot.
We managed to get some points off him in 9 ball by throwing a 3.
Felt like I was on the wrong side of some sort of record debut for a player... I heard another pro player Fargo 730 had also started a team. I can't image what would compel these guys to join. There's plenty of other more competitive leagues and money tournaments in our area. Trip to Vegas, that you end up paying of with league fees?
