Hello everyone,
I was sitting here wondering how many pool players on AZB, games were going? Has your kicks improved! Is your banks getting where you want them to be? How is your cue ball control going in 2011? Position on the next ball? Cut shots? How are your breaks going? I hope everyone is happy with their pool game improvements for 2011! If you are having a problem with some shots, I would love to hear about that as well!

My goal for my pool game in 2011 is to get my kicking and banking where I want it to be! I will also hit balls a lot more this years, It keeps my stroke up.
This post is to find out how you are improving your game for 2011. Thanks for your input.

So far mine sucks! I don't feel comfortable at the table, shooting tentative. Haven't played in the last month or so.

I will try someone with the 7 and the breaks though.

Well, a couple of weeks ago, I broke a few small bones in my right foot. Now, I'm limping around the pool table in leather-bottom slippers - on carpet. When I touch a pocket casting on the Gold Crown, I zap myself with static electricity. That should tell you how my game's going so far this year.

Same here man, can't explain it

The 7 maybe, never the breaks though! I hope you get to shoot more in 2011!

Sorry, about you not shooting much this year. I hope that improves for you!
I may give you the 7, but never the breaks. I gave Keith S. the 7 and out plus the breaks. What a mistake, he made the 9 three times in a row with me racking, and then he made the 7 two times in a row. When he did not make anything on the break I ran two racks and he quit. Of course I was behind on the money at that pace. Thanks very much for your response.

I appreciate it. Nice to meet you.

Travis, it will get better for you in 2011!

Hello Travis,
Think positive all the way for 2011, it will get better for you. Make sure you hit the balls a lot more this year. That always helps my stroke. Thanks for your response, I appreciate it very much. Nice to meet you as well. I hope your game improves this year!

Junkbond, get you some rubber or plastic bottom slippers that might help!

Hello Junkbond,
I am very sorry about your foot bones being broken. Now the good part, you are still trying to improve your pool game under hard conditions. You can put a plastic runner down around the table and that will cut out most of your problems. With static build up. I am glad you are still shooting though. Pool means a lot to all of us players! I appreciate your response. Nice to meet you. I wish you a speedy recovery with your foot!

I havn't missed a ball since sometime last year.....Of course that was the last time I played !:D

Is that because of your back, Houmatroy?

I havn't missed a ball since sometime last year.....Of course that was the last time I played !:D

You need to get your game on track for 2011, Houmatroy! Are you doing anything special for your back? I hope to see you hitting the balls good for 2011.... I appreciate your response. I hope your back gets better for you!
Thanks for input.

Now this is what is wrong with pool!

I mean seriously, people "practicing shots" only makes it harder on everyone else. People should hand their tables over to someone who wants to "play cheap sets" or just hand their money over to an "entitled pro" who can't find "any action." They should help "save the pool world" because "people don't show their true speed." They should "buy more ass weights" or get their "first pair of pool shoes." They should "break from the box" because pool will never be "main stream" or "big time" like other sports. They should help attract "sponsors" to put more money in "our game." They should watch more "Chris Farley reruns" like me. They should start "a pole" or call "someone out publicly" on the AZ forum. They should determine who the "hottest girl in pool" is or post a funny "pic or gif." They should complain about "not getting paid" or rant about "pools image." They should call the "grammar police." They should start a self promotional "now streaming live thread." They should ask "what would you do here." They should "turn pro" because they have a "high run" of 6. They should send me "Benjamin" on my "paypal account" or send me a "jelly roll." They should ***** about "placing the chalk upside down" or "who left the toilet seat up." They should worry about "sandbagging" or even worse, "teabagging." They should "ban jump sticks" or "give me some rep."

...that's what is wrong with pool!

Way to go Jason.....

My, My, Jason, you said a mouthful. Pool will get better for 2011. I see less pool on TV these days too! Thanks for your input Jason. I appreciate your response!

DoubleD, sounds like you are ready to get back on track!

I'm working on an installation in Chester, UK and have only played for 2hrs since december 18th. That was last saturday.

I fully expect to be better than I was within a week of playing serious again, which won't happen until almost may.

dld

DoubleD,
Very glad to hear from you. I hope all goes well for you in the UK! Nice of you to share your 2011 game plans with me. I'll bet you will be back in stroke very soon! I appreciate your input. Thanks.

Hey Lock N Load,

In all seriousness, banking and kicking are two of the toughest things to do well and consistent in pool. I don't think you can ever master them exactly because the table conditions change to often. I would add working on your kick safes as well. All are important weapons and will serve you greatly in the future.

I am guessing my game has gotten worse in 2011 but that is mainly do to the fact I haven't played a single game since before Christmas! It seems that every time I think I have the free time to play or practice something has come up! :(
I am hoping things will calm down a little and I can get some table time in this weekend!

My goal for 2011 is to play more, run more balls and learn 14.1.

I hope everyone here on AZB is improving!

I had some struggles closing out 2010, and was hoping/striving to make things better this year. Mixed results just a few weeks in. I'm thinking I have the major fundamental issues corrected (or at least the problems minimized, perhaps a better way to put it. An instructor would cringe at my "fundamentals", I'm sure) and I've had some limited successes.

My current biggest challenge in between my ears. Managing my game, and my emotions. Not letting "me" beat myself.

My goal is to move up a skill level in my league. (I know, actually wanting to go up? Heresey! :p) I'm hoping to do so by the end of 2011. As I just went up midway through last year, that is a stretch, so my drop-dead target is summer 2012, but if I can get my collective stuff together, maybe I can get there this year.

The goal of "going up" isn't the goal in and of itself, just a measure that I've improved a certain amount. It's the easiest measuring stick I have for pool in this part of the world. We shall see if I can get there this year...

To tell you the truth I'm playing as well as I ever have, maybe better. The reason, of course, is the new aiming system I developed while I was away these past four months. It's a method I call the 'Drip Line', and using it has increased my shot making percentage phenomonaly. I'm late for an appointment right now, but remind me later and I'll tell you all about it.

Pretty funny. I think you've been spending too much time reading the AZ Forums. Since I recognize just about everything you have in quotes, I think I'm guilty too.

I'm struggling with my pool game lately. I was playing better two months ago and everything seemed easier. I have also been a little tentative lately. Not playing with as much confidence and not trusting my stroke as much. Hard to trust your stroke when it ain't working though.

Lately I've just been refocusing on my stroke and hitting long practice shots instead of playing games and it seems to be helping.

Mostly just been busy but partly cuz of the old back...before hunting season i was going to this woman that does deep tissue sport massages with the oils & hot rocks..That was starting to help...she said it was cuz my hips were out of line & had to be worked back in.

I have tried to watch some of the DVD I have had for year to re-spark the information in my brain. I have tried to practice a few more hours a week, and play better. I am seeing results of my efforts.

But honestly have ZERO DESIRE to go out and play in any Tournaments any more, as honestly the reward of winning is not worth the effort, money expended in the process to justify me driving cross town, paying entree fee, and coming home after midnight with 70-80 bucks for a first, 30-40 bucks for a second, or pocket change for a third.

Maybe that day will come again, but honestly I do not see that in the near future. JMHO.
