I would like to sell some shaftwood

Dave,

I have been looking for hornbeam for some time now... However, I got a few questions:

1. Was it split into boards or cut initially? (if you know) most likely the second.

2. Do you have any that is over 1x1 and longer than 30"?

Please let me know.
Karl.

Hi Karl,

I do not know if these came from boards or were cut directly, sorry.
They are a little over 1x1 (but most likely not big enough for buttsleeves), you might be able to squeeze a forearm out of them.
They are all well over 30" (as are the maple), they are at least 31". I will measure 1 or 2 in a few hours.

EDIT: They are around 34" long and 27x28mm but a little rough. I guesstimate you could get a 26mm clean dowel from them, no more,
so even a forearm for a pool cue will be either on the thin side or not possible.

Hi Robin,

PM replied, just making sure you know the dimensions I mentioned one post up are for the Hornbeam squares.
The maple are all 32" or longer and a mix of 27x28mm and 28x33mm, I think you could just squeeze forearms out of the thicker ones.

Well, I had a few sales and hopefully the buyers will be happy with what they get.
101 maple squares and 16 hornbeam gone, about 2000 + 700 to go.

I would also like to thank the well known cuemaker that pm'd me, hopefully we can work
out a nice trade for one or more of his cues in exchange for shaftwood (I am open to other offers like this).

The first package has arrived and I am happy to report the buyer was very happy with what he got, see my most recent I-Trader.

Myself, I would trust Dave. Hes been around here for some time.

If they are the quality that he is talking about, and I trust they are, $11 from the Netherlands to Canada seems a bit cheap. Maybe I read it wrong but I would think that shipping would be considerably more.

50 for me is a bit much at the moment as I have a decent supply.

However, I definitely would be willing to buy 25 for a start and have a look at them.

And another 25 or more there after.

Ordering 25 would not be a problem, allthough I would advise either 16 or 30 to fill up
a certain weight. The shipping costs go up in stages for a package upto 22 pound and then
the next stage is 44 pounds.

As you can see just above my post the second shipment has arrived and that buyer is also happy.

EDIT: Just wanted to add I am working on 3 deals with cuemakers where we do a trade
and they are all cuemakers that I really respect and who's work I really like, with me being
in the cue selling business a nice custom cue is (almost) as good as cash money.
