Hi Monte. Happy New Year to you. All is well here, thanks for asking.
The tip is both phenolic and leather, you get the best of both worlds. The center section is leather (looks like a circle) the rest is phenolic.

Wow! I know I said no trade but this is tempting. My only concern is the blue dot. which I believe is .75 degrees upright. I use a standard angle club. Let me talk to one of my friends who is an expert of these things and see if he thinks it would be a problem for me. I don't want to start spraying balls further right
